Standard Visitor Visa
If you are a national from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland you would be able to apply for a standard visitor visa for the purpose of a holiday, visiting family members or friends, attending short-term English courses (up to 6 months), have private medical treatment, or for business based reasons.
The applicant has to make standard visitor visa application outside of the UK only and can be made up to 3 months before the planned departure date. In the condition of a Standard Visitor Visa you can only visit the UK for up to 6 months, you might be able to stay for longer if you are visiting the UK for private medical treatment (up to 11 months), or if an academic coming to the UK for research (up to 12 months).
To apply for a Visitor Visa, you will need to ensure the Home Office the intention of your visit and that you will be leaving the UK at the end of your trip that you have strong financial, social, and family ties to your home country.
Permitted Paid Engagement Visa
If you would like to visit the UK for up to 1 month to do a paid engagement or event that you would be able to apply for a permitted paid engagement visa for the purpose of doing activities that relate directly to your profession as a professional artist, entertainer, musician, professional sportspeople, qualified lawyer, lecturer, academic examiner, assessor or air pilot examiner.
The applicant has to make permitted paid engagement visa application outside of the UK only and can be made up to 3 months before the planned departure date. In the condition of this visa you can provide your paid engagement or event in the UK for up to one month only and you cannot extend your stay in the UK. During your stay you can also do all the activities allowed as a standard visitor except for studying and transitting to another country.
To apply for a paid engagement visa, you will need to ensure the Home Office the intention of your visit, you have a written invitation from UK based organization or client, you are an expert in your profession, and that you will be leaving the UK at the end of your trip that you have strong financial, social, and family ties to your home country.
Marriage Visitor Visa
If you would like to visit the UK for up to 6 months for the purposes of getting married or registering a civil partnership in the UK, giving notice of a marriage or civil partnership in UK and not planning to stay or settle in the UK after your marriage or civil partnership.
The applicant has to make marriage visitor visa application outside of the UK only and can be made up to 3 months before the planned departure date. In the condition of this visa you can get married or register a civil partnership or give notice of a marriage or civil partnership in the UK for up to six months only and you cannot extend your stay in the UK. During your stay you can marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of your arrival - you must use a venue licensed for this purpose and you can pass through the UK in transit (on your way to another country).
To apply for a marriage visitor visa, you will need to ensure the Home Office the intention of your visit, you’re free to give notice of marriage, to marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of your arrival, you’re in a genuine relationship, you’re visiting the UK for less than 6 months, you’re able to support yourself during your trip (or have funding from someone else to support you), you have a written invitation from your fiance in the UK, you’ll not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK your main home, you’re able to pay for your return or onward journey (or have funding from someone else to pay for the journey), and that you will be leaving the UK at the end of your trip that you have strong financial, social, and family ties to your home country.
Transit Visa
If you would like to pass through the UK in transit on your way to another country the transit visa would be tailored for your purpose.
if you’ll be changing flights in the UK and will not be going through UK border control and you should apply for a Direct Airside Transit Visa ( DATV) but if you will be going through UK border control but leaving the UK within 48 hours you will need to apply for a transit visa.
